About the Author and Her Muse

At 6 months old Phoenix lost both parents in late 2019. I took over as his legal guardian and ultimately adopted him. Phoenix is an amazing child. He has his Mom's funny and outgoing personality, and his father's energy.

While single-parenting all over again is much harder at my age, Phoenix has enhanced my life and made me a better person.

About the Illustrator

Lindy Gonzales is an artist based in Dallas, TX. Art became her passion at a young age and it is still something she pursues. She has worked with multiple mediums in art including oil, watercolor and acrylic painting, pencil and ink, as well as digital art. This is Lindy's first foray into book illustration. The author, Toni Warden, found Lindy at her eye doctor. When Toni mentioned that she was writing a children's book, Lindy spoke up offering to illustrate and the rest is history. Lindy captured the author's vision even before the author knew what that vision was. The illustrations are colorful and simple, meant to capture the minds and hearts of young picture book readers.
